Friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. Comfy bus and great traveling crew.

My 14 day Darwin-Broome expedition with Kimberley Wild should have been the trip of a lifetime. Instead we had a guide whose behaviour was erratic, belligerent and totally inappropriate. I was threatened with being thrown off the tour at one stage. As if that wasn't bad enough, my complaints to the management of the company were not treated with due regard. An apology was given but it was not genuine. The management basically blamed me and others for not alerting the company from Mitchell Falls so that she could replace the guide. As if? We had no access to satellite phone and I certainly couldn't ask the guide to allow me to use his!!!! Luckily the Kimberley itself was wonderful. I would never recommend this company to any traveller. It may be OK when things are going well, but, if things turn sour, the management is not prepared to accept responsibility or do anything as a gesture of redress or compensation. Their behavior in dealing with all the complaints from our tour group is shameful and is truly disappointing.

Recently returned from a 14 day Kimberley Wild tour. Really can't speak too highly of all aspects of the experience. Top guide - Nathan was a gold mine of information, excellent and safe driver, decent bush cook, personable and very reliable. 5 stars. The tour has been very well thought through - the right amount of time was spent in the right places. The only way I can see that it old be improved on would mean adding more days and some additional expense to the package.

My husband and I recently took a 12-day tour with Kimberley Wild Expeditions. We were a bit anxious about the "guided tour" aspect, but the whole experience was fantastic. We had a wonderful guide, for whom nothing was too much trouble: we learnt so much about the wonderful landscapes of the Kimberley from him. The accommodation was basic but extremely comfortable - sleeping under the stars is something everyone should do once in a lifetime. The roads are rough, as is inevitable in the remote outback, but the bus was well equipped to give us a comfortable ride on the roughest terrain. Food was good, too.

The vehicle used was the right one for the job - apparently the oldest 4WD bus in their fleet, but never missed a beat. And the price was right. We took the camping plus option and thought it worth the extra $5oo or so . There are tours out there that are nearly twice the price for a few extra frills. I think Kimberley Direct got the balance just right so 5 stars for value too.

My husband and I traveled on the 2 day trip to Geike Gorge, Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek. Our driver Simon was a wonderful host full of great stories with a passion for the Kimberley region that was infectious. Thank-you for a great getaway. I am definitely not the camping type but I would highly recommend travelers staying in Broome to add this to their holiday experience.
